Crimea Ceremony.

The Drysdale Cemetery has a special commemorative section devoted to the Crimean War Veterans, buried in the cemetery, who resided at the veterans home in Crimea Street, Drysdale. These veterans were housed from 1890 to 1922 in the purpose built United Services Home for Veterans which was based on the models of the Chelsea and Greenwich institutions in London.

The GMRG attend the ceremony each year providing a rifle firing party, and the thundering roar of the 25 pounder field gun.
