Impressions.

In reenacting circles the term "Impression" is used to describe the uniform, equipment and the overall look that each reenactor is depicting. GMRG members aim to ensure that their impression is as accurate and representative as possible.

A large amount of research is undertaken to ensure accuracy. This involves a variety of sources such as; eyewitness accounts, museum collections, private collections, reputable books, and the vast bank of knowledge within the GMRG ranks.

Each reenacting member of the GMRG is expected to obtain and maintain one or more impressions and kit to participate in events and reenactments.
Experienced members have a wealth of knowledge about the uniforms from different eras, and are happy to help new members to "kit up".

Below is an example of some of the impressions in use by members of the GMRG.
