GMRG Media And Education.

A large part of the GMRG's purpose is to inform, educate and entertain the public in matters relating to Australia's Military History. For the most part this occurs when we perform ceremonial duties, re-enactments or hold static displays at various events around the country.

In the Australian Education System, Australian history has taken a back seat. It is not uncommon to find whole generations who know little of Australia's Military History beyond a vague awareness of the Anzacs. So we hope to build an educational resource for those who are interested to learn further.

Amongst the GMRG members there are many authorative and knowledgeable experts in various aspects of Australian Military History. Some are Veterans - people who were actually there, some are published authors, some run related businesses, most are enthusiastic collectors, and some bear the fruits of many years of study and investigation.

So by utilising the wealth of wisdom, experience and knowledge within the GMRG and it's affiliates, this section of the website will house articles and information to facilitate the readers journey through a diverse range of events and exploits in Australia's Military History.

There are virtually limitless stories to tell. Some amazing, some heroic, and some failures. Quite often in wartime the story is told by the victor, and sometimes slanted in the favour of the victor. Unfortunately over the course of years there has emerged a trend to "modernise" and "rewrite" history based upon a particular author's political leanings.

There are also many myths and falsehoods perpetuated about various actions, activities and personnel. We hope to clear some of these up.

Over time we will add various articles to address these matters.
