The GMRG follow a strict code of safety practices when using, storing, transporting and displaying weapons. These practices are in addition and in accordance with Australian State and Federal Laws.
Being military by nature it is natural that firearms, weapons and ordnance are a part of the GMRG. Each member who uses a firearm is required to attend a firearm safety course, and attain a State Firearm Licence. For re-enactment purposes each participating member needs to have their Licence endorsed for Theatrical and Re-enactment.
At GMRG events you will see a variety of firearms and ordnance on display. At many of these events the use of the firearms will be demonstrated, and the opportunity exists for the public to get an up close look at rare antiques in a safe controlled environment.
On these pages you will find information about the more common types of firearms used by Australian Military Forces, our Allies and our Enemies.
